Adventure Backpack and Climb Course For participants entering grades 6-8 in Fall 2021
Join Women’s Wilderness to learn camping, backpacking, and rock climbing skills while building incredible friendships. This course takes place entirely outdoors!
Adventure Backpack and Climb Camp is a great way to enjoy the wilderness, make new friends and try new things. Participants will be able to explore beautiful places and see animals and wildflowers. Activities include camping, backpacking, backcountry cooking, rock climbing, journaling, art projects, games, and a peak hike!
In relationship with the natural world, participants will explore their identity and values and learn how to navigate emotions and interpersonal relationships. Women’s Wilderness courses are led by strong women role-models. Women’s Wilderness will provide all gear including tents, stoves, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, backpacks, hiking shoes, and clothing.
- Six days backpacking and camping in the Snowy Range, Wyoming
- Two days rock climbing at Vedauwoo Recreation Area, Wyoming
- Route, distance, and pace that matches the skill set and ability of the group
- Pack weights around 30-40 pounds
- Possible peak ascent
- Sleeping under the stars
- Average group size: 9 participants, 3 instructors
