High Peaks Backpacking Expedition For participants entering grades 9-12 in Fall 2021
Intensity level: Moderate
The High Peaks Backpacking expedition is an immersive backpacking trip in the high mountains during peak wildflower season. You will learn how to set up camp, cook delicious meals, pack your backpack, read a map, and navigate in the mountains.
Participants will get to know each other in a deeper, more meaningful way than you have ever experienced before. Throughout the trip, you will have opportunities to discuss and explore what really makes you unique in this world:
- You’re in high school…who are you?
- Where do you fit in?
- What experiences celebrate you?
- What special attributes do you bring to the group on your backpacking trip?
- How do you contribute to the team?
- How can you really bring these gifts forward once you return home?
- Average group size: 9 participants, 3 instructors
Women’s Wilderness instructors will work with participants to explore goal setting, application of leadership skills to home, and development of personal leadership style.
Course fee includes all food, gear, transportation, activities, and instruction. Participants may borrow gear from Women's Wilderness for the duration of their course, free of charge.
