  • 9 am - 4:30 pm
  • early drop-off available from 7:30 am -9 am
  • Pick up between 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
  • Drop-off and pick-up location will be at our HQ near downtown and we will depart for our daily adventure in our vans. Our destination for the day depends on the season and trail conditions. Typically, older youth will go on longer and more challenging adventures in the Chugach Front Range or other locations, while the Wolf Pups will stick closer to home with outdoor activities in an around Westchester lagoon.

This 2022/23 School Year, our In-Service Day and School Break Day Programs are focused on the many human powered adventures and sports kids can enjoy over the course of fall, winter, and spring seasons. On days that are too cold to be in the outdoors, we will meet up at our HQ, The Little Blue Shop, near downtown Anchorage to learn outdoor activities in an indoor setting - gear repair, knitting, whittling, art, games, and more. If your kiddo isn't as excited about sports, that is okay! We have options for outdoor art, bird-watching, and other activities for kids that prefer quieter activities.

Our Outdoor Studies Programs are designed for youth to learn season-specific outdoor studies skills and foster an authentic relationship with our local wild spaces here in Anchorage. These programs run August - May specifically on ASD scheduled In-Service days, School Breaks, and Holidays.

For our ASD-scheduled half-day program offerings please check out our website.

Depending on weather and snow conditions, we will have the option to explore the world of nordic skiing, fat-tire/winter plus-tire biking, sledding, and ice-skating. In the fall and spring we will go hiking, play games like soccer, do outdoor yoga and workouts, and go running.

We are dedicated to providing an unparalleled youth & adult outdoor and environmental science education program emphasizing place-based, experiential learning. Our youth and adult participants alike learn environmental science, outdoor safety, teamwork, and survival skills that will keep them and their back country companions safe over a lifetime of exploring our world’s wild spaces.

Our programs are designed to foster authentic learning experiences that will not only last a lifetime, but encourage our participants to become actively engaged in conservation, protection, and sustainable use of our wild spaces. In our programs, participants learn specific and general safety skills through hands-on, active and experiential learning.
