Yoga Playhouse has teamed up with child psychologist, Karen Mengden, to create a class that gives kids in middle school the tools needed to cope with stress and anxiety. Students will learn to change their habitual responses to stress and create healthier habits so they will be able to move through our anxiety-provoking world with more ease. They'll learn to navigate the body-breath-mind connection through mindfulness activities such as yoga and meditation. They'll also engage in discussions about sources of stress and learn psychological techniques to change thought processes and reactions to common stressors. Parents are invited to join the final 5 minutes of each class when students share with their parents the strategy for finding calm learned that week.
