Yoga Meets Philanthropy teaches children how to take yoga off the mat by helping others. The class will heighten children’s awareness and understanding of a need (such as literacy, the environment, rescued animals, food scarcity or refugees), then empower them to make a difference. During the 10-week session, children will focus on one specific cause, at both the local and national level. Each week, they will work to create something that will help the chosen cause. The 10-week session will provide ample time for children to make an impact and see the results of their efforts.
The weekly hour-long class for 7-to 13-year-olds will include a yoga practice that will encourage compassion, empathy and gratitude. Growing strong hearts is just as important as growing strong bodies.
