This age group meets from 9:30am - 1:30pm. Our Yoga Meets Science camps allow campers to observe scientific concepts by conducting experiments, experience these concepts in their bodies through yoga, then apply these same concepts to the world we live in. While experimenting with a rocket made from a film canister and AlkaSeltzer, we can learn about Newton’s third law – every action has an equal and opposite reaction. We can explore this law in our bodies by pressing our hands down into the ground to lift our bodies up off the ground into a pose called Lifted Lotus. Next, we’d discuss how the actions we take in our day-to-day life, can come back to us with an equal amount of force. If you send out a kind word or thought or deed, it will come back to you with an equal amount of force—that’s Newton’s Law.
